Practical Kabbalah · The wisdom of Solomon · Mystical manuscripts
Rabbi Emanuel Shahar brings together the study of Kabbalistic writings and practical Kabbalah, the writing of personal amulets, prayer and spiritual guidance. His work begins with the individual and the question they bring: a request for blessing and protection, livelihood, marriage, peace at home or strength in difficult times. A personal conversation allows room for each person’s circumstances and concerns.
The Rabbi studies the wisdom of Solomon and the books, seals and traditions attributed to King Solomon over the centuries. This study explores the relationships between letters, names, symbols and prayer, and their place in mystical literature and practical Kabbalah. His interests also include Almandal, alchemy and esoteric traditions, subjects that call for patient reading and familiarity with the distinctive language of their sources.
Writings attributed to King Solomon belong to a wide body of traditions transmitted and edited in different periods. Rabbi Shahar studies these works and the meanings he finds in them alongside Kabbalistic teachings and the manuscripts held by the institutions’ library. The encounter between these texts and contemporary questions lies at the heart of this site.
Rabbi Shahar’s practice concerns the removal and cancellation of spells within his religious tradition, together with prayer and personal spiritual guidance. He does not offer to cast harmful spells on others. Personal amulets ordered through the office are written by the Rabbi in accordance with his tradition and prepared for the recipient’s name and mother’s name. The office can explain the process and arrange a personal enquiry.
The Rabbi’s biographical account describes him as a student of the Kabbalist Rabbi Nissim Peretz, of blessed memory, head of the Beit El Kabbalists’ yeshiva. It also describes a family connection to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, of blessed memory, through Rabbi Yaakov Sinai. His work is rooted in the study of Torah, Kabbalah and the written heritage of generations of Jewish mystics.
Alongside his spiritual practice, Rabbi Shahar maintains a collection of old books and manuscripts. These writings form a field of study for the traditions of prayer, names and symbols found throughout Kabbalistic literature. Visitors can explore the articles and original videos, then contact the office to discuss a personal question or order an individually prepared amulet.
Enquiries are handled personally through the office. The request may concern a traditional practice, an individually written amulet or a conversation about faith and the direction of one’s life.
